The real question is: does your website make the right impression?

Recently, I had the chance to travel from Ottawa to Halifax by train, and honestly, it was an experience I truly enjoyed.

The journey itself was long — around 25 hours — but there was something peaceful and unique about traveling slowly across Eastern Canada. Sometimes we get so busy in life that we forget to appreciate the beauty of simply watching landscapes change through a train window.

Although my stay in Halifax was very short before continuing toward Prince Edward Island, I still wanted to make the most out of those few hours.

Discovering the Halifax Waterfront

One of the first places I visited was the waterfront area near the port.

As someone originally from Lebanon, I immediately felt a familiar atmosphere. In a way, it reminded me a little of the marina back home — calm water, cafés near the sea, people walking peacefully, and that relaxing feeling you only get in coastal cities.

Even though it was still dark and windy when I arrived around 5 AM, the city already felt welcoming.

The streets were quiet, the air was fresh, and the waterfront had a beautiful charm that made the short visit feel special.

A Quiet Morning Coffee in Halifax

Around 7 AM, I stopped at Café du Port for a coffee and croissant before continuing my journey.

It was honestly one of the highlights of my short visit.

The café had:

  • a cozy atmosphere
  • beautiful interior design
  • large windows overlooking the street
  • and a peaceful morning vibe.

There was something relaxing about sitting quietly with a coffee while the city slowly started waking up outside.

Moments like these are simple, but they stay in memory.

A Short Visit Worth Taking

Even though I only had a few hours in Halifax, the city left a very positive impression on me.

From the waterfront views to the calm atmosphere and welcoming cafés, Halifax felt peaceful, authentic, and enjoyable.

Sometimes short trips create the best memories.

And as a Lebanese Canadian traveling through Eastern Canada, it was nice to discover another beautiful side of the country before continuing my adventure toward Prince Edward Island.
